Mechanicum: Krios Battle Tank / Krios Venator
The Krios Battle Tank is a product of Martian ingenuity, built using technologies few outside the Mechanicum can understand or replicate. Unlike conventional tanks, its resilience relies not on heavy armour but interlocking energy fields shielding its frame, resulting in a skeletal yet durable silhouette. These vehicles serve as swift and lethal support platforms, mounting exotic weaponry capable of annihilating even the most heavily armoured foes.
Product Features
This multi-part plastic kit builds one Krios vehicle, which can be assembled as either a Krios Battle Tank or a Krios Venator, offering two influential battlefield roles. Designed for Mechanicum forces in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, these light yet durable tanks also make excellent allies for Legiones Astartes and Solar Auxilia armies.
The Krios Battle Tank variant can be armed with a lightning cannon, known for its arcing bursts of energy, or an irradiation blaster that melts through infantry and light vehicles with searing radiation. The Krios Venator instead mounts a pulsar-fusil, a devastating long-range weapon capable of piercing fortified targets and enemy armour. Both versions can add a pair of volkite calivers for additional fire support.
The kit includes a Mechanicum Macro-constructs transfer sheet, offering a range of faction icons and markings to personalise your vehicle.

Assembly and Painting
This kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted, offering a detailed and rewarding build for experienced hobbyists. We recommend Citadel Plastic Glue for assembly and Citadel Colour paints to illuminate the arcane tech and weathered metal of the Mechanicum’s battlefield constructs. Optional components allow for customisation and dynamic presentation of either tank variant.
Battlefield Role
The Krios Battle Tank and Venator provide mobile heavy firepower to Mechanicum armies. Their speed and energy shielding allow them to manoeuvre into firing positions while avoiding damage that would cripple more conventional vehicles. The lightning cannon and irradiation blaster are ideal for short- to mid-range engagements, while the pulsar-fusil offers long-range fire support with the potential to punch through the toughest targets.
As allied units, Krios tanks offer Legiones Astartes and Solar Auxilia players access to powerful and unusual weaponry, giving their forces an edge through versatility and raw firepower.
